LEGISLATIVE REPRESENTATION - The Association is your voice in government. We help you keep abreast of changing legislation and regulatory measures that affect your business.  We also work to inform our lawmakers on issues of interest to the hospitality industry and the economic value of the tourism and convention business.

ASSOCIATION NEWSLETTER - The Association’s monthly newsletter, INN- SIGHT, provides up-to-date information on what is happening in the Greater Kansas City area, industry news, legislative issues, directory updates, and information on upcoming association events.

MEMBERSHIP DIRECTORY - The Membership Directory lists all association hotel members and hotel supplier members.  Over 1,000 directories are printed and distributed to members, elected officials, the Chambers of Commerce, and Convention and Visitor Bureaus.

MEMBERSHIP LUNCHEONS - Membership luncheons are held the first Wednesday of most months at various locations throughout the Greater Kansas City area. This is a superb networking opportunity with industry colleagues and suppliers.  Luncheon programs include guest speakers that address industry issues and provide information on local area attractions and economic development. Cost of the luncheon is $16.  Reservations are required.

ALLIED MEMBER TRADE SHOW - The annual spring trade show is free to association members.  The trade show provides an opportunity for allied members to showcase products and services.  The monthly membership luncheon where Star Employee of the Year awards are presented is also part of this special event. (The luncheon cost is $16.)

ANNUAL GOLF TOURNAMENT - The association’s tournament is one of Kansas City’s premier golf events.  Your newsletter will keep you informed as to the date and time of this special event.  This tournament is a sell out each year, so remember to sign-up early.  Participation in this tournament is available to out-of-area members.

RECOGNITION DINNER - Our annual Recognition Dinner honors the Hotelier of the Year, Hotel Supplier of the Year, and a community leader selected to receive the Hospitality Leadership award.  Bring your spouse, guests, clients and friends to this gala, black-tie social highlight.

EDUCATION – College scholarships are provided to full-time students pursuing a career in the hospitality industry as well as continuing education scholarships for those already working in the industry.  Periodically during the year continuing education courses are offered for employees of member companies and are taught by a college instructor on a variety of topics.  The Mid-America Hospitality Forum, which has a curriculum oriented toward current industry issues, is held annually.  Out-of-Area members can attend at member prices.

HELP WHEN YOU NEED IT - Your association staff is always available to provide assistance when needed.  Call or stop by the office--we are here to serve you!
